Obtaining of Compulsory Auto Insurance policy

The Compulsory third party liability insurance of motor vehicles is used for the purpose of providing compensation for the damages which may be caused to health of physical persons, as well as to property of legal entities and physical persons in course of use of mechanical means of transportation within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Compulsory third party liability insurance shall apply to the owners of the following types of motor vehicles:

The following motor vehicles with a volume of engine being in excess of 50 sm3:

• Passenger vehicles and other motor vehicles produced on their basis;
• Cargo vehicles and other motor vehicles produced on their basis;
• Micro-buses, buses and other motor vehicles produced on their basis;
• Motorcycles and motor rollers;
• Tractors, means of auto transportation used in construction of roads, forest and agricultural industry;
• Trolleybuses and trams.
